About The Blog/Website
I live mostly in Uttarakhand, India . Internet access is sometimes via ISDN through a CDMA mobile network. That means my cellphone is also a modem. Its about as fast as dial-up. Sometimes I have to post at the local cyber-cafe or on the road.
After starting the blog I realized there were far more topics than one blog could handle so I divided them up into separate blogs. My other blogs and their topics include:
A Monsoon Diary-life in India as a foreign woman. Also contributions from my friend who is having a similar experience in Bangladesh
An Enlightenment Ward-Buddhism and related
In Italics-stories, poetry, reviews and essays and social commentary and criticism
The Djinn of Ashes – a serialized magic-realist novel that is just getting underway
Valhalla Nomad -A Lost Valkyrie in the Modern World-rants and raves
Reality Montage-a photoblog

Great site Marnie. Love the pictures.
I simply cannot thank you enough. Copy pasting every single thing for me is a really amazing and caring thing which you have done for me. You have touched me in ways I think very few can, and I sincerely thank you for lending me a hand when I was still frantic.
I will definitely be back to your site again. Thank you, so, so much. =)
I love your site and I have learned so much from it. As a kid I always wanted to go to India. Thank you for doing it for me and seeing things I wouldn’t have even looked for. Thank you and keep on trekking’.

Hi Marnie,
Wonderful site…I like Monsoon Diaries and the photos of India.
The photos of the birds made me think of the bird sanctuary at Bharatpur.
I also loved Motorcycle Diaries, one of the reviews in your blog.
Things are going along well here. We’ve been going to a lot of concerts and theatre lately which has been nice – a good balance for Ron and me, as both of our days are immersed in numbers and reports.
My son Sean is living with us while looking for a job as a Medical Lab Assistant (just finished a college program) and Andrea is living in Cape Breton going to a super-small university taking a Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies. She’s liking it.
We’re evaluating various travel options for 2009 – possibly a trip to Israel and the Holy Land with my mom or possibly an Eastern Mediterranean trip to Rome/Greece/Turkey/Egypt. Either would be awesome.
I think you may be in Vancouver now for the next couple of months. Wishing you well. All the best over the holiday season and may many dreams come true in 2009!
Love,
Monica
