Atop the Gangotri glacier on the way to Tapovan. There is now a limit to the number of visitors allowed to go to the glacier due to ecological considerations and peoples habit of leaving all their garbage along the way. As well people are now no longer allowed to approach the face of the glacier as it has become more unstable over the past years.
